OU Gets Hooked, Again!

Growing up in the Great State of Texas, becoming a UT Longhorn fan (as well as a Rocket fan) was practically unavoidable for me. So today I just had to brag about my Horns as they beat the OU Sooners - their much hated rivals - 16-13 in the Red River Rivalry Game, again. This gives OU 3 losses on the year, and hopefully, will kick them out of the rankings, just as UT's defense kicked Sam Bradford out of the game. Of course, Sooner fans will whine and complain like they always do about how they would have beat us if Bradford was healthy. Blah blah blah. How about you protect the quarterback? The fact is this: they got beat last year even when Bradford played the whole game, so don't give me that crap.
When was the last big game OU won under Stoops? You know, for someone nicknamed "Big Game Bob," you'd think they would actually show up for the big game. I don't know how much they're paying him, but whatever it is, it is way too much! This picture demonstrates what a great coach Stoops truly is . . .

Anyway, I hope the Longhorns can keep it going all the way to the National Championship. They deserved to be there last year, but as everyone knows, they got SCREWED and OU embarrassed the Big 12 in the championship game. I know this win wasn't pretty, but we'll take it. The Horns need to start the game full throttle to help keep my blood pressure down. Either way, Stoops and the Sooners got hooked! He's used to laying eggs.

HOOK EM' HORNS!!

This was a great game. However, while I do agree this is a good win for Texas, it wasn't enough to convince me that Texas is a legitimate national contender team. All game I couldn't believe how much Texas's offense sputtered and couldn't seem to connect. They caught some big breaks off Oklahoma mistakes. I'm not convinced this Texas team could hang with Florida or Alabama. Colt McCoy didn't look that great, his numbers weren't too impressive. But after the game I decided I need to cut him a little slack because he had been sick all week and he barely had a voice. I think Texas could be upset between now and title time, but if not, they will definitely meet either Alabama or Florida for the national championship. I'm pulling for them, but I want to see that they're a two half team and not just a second half team.

Yeah, Colt didn't impress, but as you said, the man could hardly talk and was sick all week - so he'll be better. Did you watch the Florida game? They just about lost at home to an unranked Arkansas team, so they aren't looking all that great either. 2 missed FG's from the Arkansas kicker saved the Gators. They squeaked out an ugly win the week before at LSU. I think Alabama is the best team in the country right now. Mark Ingraham is probably the best RB in the country as well. He's fun to watch. So if I were Urban Meyer, I'd be pretty worried about Bama in the SEC title game.
